The outstanding research expertise of the faculty and the distinguished performances of its alumni over the years have made the department well-known for cosmetics education and research. To cope with the increasing demand for cosmetics technologists, the Institute of Cosmetic Science was founded in 2004 to offer a master's degree program, so as to provide cosmetic R&D education with good quality and skills for graduate students.
